EFI University
Curious to know if anyone here has attended any of the courses offered by EFI University, and what is you opinion about it , what was you experience like, and were you able to continue to excel in the tuning world after the course. I am going to be attending EFI-101 at xenercron sept. 11th and 12th and would like to get some peoples opinions about it before I start. Once done with efi-101 I am looking to try so street and some dyno tuning, save some money and go on to efi advanced so on and so forth.
Its a pretty cool class I enjoyed it, I will say you could learn most of what they teach you by reading books. But it helps some people to in a class environment. Best thing you can do is ask questions, dont be shy make a list before you go. Also when they have breaks I had my laptop with me and was able to sit down with the instructor and go over areas of the tuning software I did not understand.
i attended EFI101 in so cal a few years back. i was tuning an rx7 race car on motec already. but it was still very informative. you will be hooked and ant more. i still want to attend the motec class. i see they have added a few classes since i went. but they are a good group of guys.. you will learn a lot. and yes, do not be afraid to ask questions.
take it if you can.
take it if you can.
A very good place to start if you want a career in tuning. with the 101 course, you'll learn the fundamentals on efi tuning and how it all works together, i liked how they show you how to tune and make power on the dyno on the second day, and they were not reluctant to answer any questions that you have.
MAKE SURE YOU PICK UP A COPY OF BEN STRADERS EFI TUNING BOOK now if you can. i got my copy at barnes and nobles. alot of that stuff is in the efi-101 text book to get you on top of things.
i took the advanced class back in 04 which was my first hands on dyno experience, i was always the first to volunteer cause i wanted to get used to using the dyno. After taking the class i was a regular renting the dyno at a local tuning shop for years, we used it enough that we ended up buying that very dyno.
Good luck. may God find favor in your tuning.
