can anyone tell me how i can diagnose my ecu to find out if its the s300 or the ecu thats died? The car was running fine and next time i tried to start it i was not getting fuel or spark. I tried plugging in to the s300 port and got no link. so i plugged in a stock ecu i had laying around and the everything seemed to work right away. im pretty sure its the ecu but need to be sure before i go out and replace it.

Check the LEDs on the s300. If they're not turning on with key on it's likely your capacitor at C14 on the ECU died and needs replacement. If that burst and caused damage, you may need a new ECU.

I rarely have ever seen s300 modules go bad.
My bet would be something died in the actual ecu.
