i have a jet performance p28 ecu, what exactly is this jet chip doing for my car? what is it changing?

 

NO one can possibly know that but Jet and the previous owner that had it installed. If they are still in business, contact them directly.

now what is most likely done to the ecu is vtec engaging quicker and/or rpm range raised.

 

Would it be to late to have hondata do something to it and would be better then the jet chip? all jet dose is bump everthing up like timing and advance everything? at least hondata is tuneable....

 

YOu can't reprogram a chip. Hondata is an add-on EMS that installs in the ECU. It's not cheap and will require additional tuning. Preferably by someone that knows how to tune. That will most likely incur an additional expense.

Since you never mentioned what mods are done to your engine there's a good chance Hondata would be overkill and not cost effective.

Contac Phearable and have them burn you a better chip to your specs. $35.
