Default Skunk2 Alpha Rods

Any experience with them? I have an old set of Manley H beams that I was gonna use, but I figure maybe I'll just sell 'em and get a fresh set. I was looking at the skunk2 alpha rods. Before somebody tells me that they are chinese rods... I know. So are Manley's and Eagle's and K1's and BC's and on and on and on.
I'm only planning for 400whp or so. Pretty much any aftermarket rod will do that as long as there are no metallurgy flaws and improper machining. I've ran a cheap set of eagles with success in the past, I just thought that the skunk2s looked a little beefier.

I'm still waiting for my ball joints to fail like everybody said would happen. Going on 2 years now. Maybe it's because I don't have my car lowered so stupidly to the point of the ball joints binding. Naaah.. couldn't be that.

Ya know, being made in China isn't necessarily bad. They are becoming one of the worlds largest manufacturing companies.

The key I think is whether the company contracting the product out to China utilizes an ISO 9001 cert company with their specs.

Much like Brembo blanks. They come from china but from an ISO 9001 manufacturer so as long as Brembo kept their specs as they had previously, the blanks will be just as good 99% of the time.

I suspect Skunk2 is utilizing ISO 9001 manufacturers for their Alpha equipment.

It's just like you said. Just about everything is made in China. Xboxs, Iphones, tvs, OEM car parts. Quality products can be made there if that is what is demanded. The real problem with China is that there are manufacturers that are willing to make absolute trash with 0 care for patent laws and that there are American companies that are willing to peddle the ****.

Food for thought, Eagle Rods are manufactured in China and a lot of people use them. Give it a shot.
