P72 connecting rod intensity?

Hello,

My engune running with YCP high compression piston and P72 connecting rod, and now i want to put on the stage 2 cams, but worry to the intensity of P72 rod?
Do I need to replace the connecting rod necessary if i put on the aftermarket camshaft?
Thanks!

Re: P72 connecting rod intensity?

Rod bolt failure is going to be your weak point... so as long as you don't intend to increase the engine red line, the rods will be fine. If you rev the engine higher to make more power with the camshafts... I suggest you replace the stock connecting rods with stronger aftermarket ones.
