Is this hole supposed to be there?

Is the hole that is circled in red supposed to be there? It appears to be quite rough and not machined?

Yes. You can clean up the casting flash if you want.

Thank you! I was worried there was damage to the head. I'll get it cleaned up at the machine shop while getting resurfaced
