I'm rebuilding my first head and I want to make sure I'm putting the right valves in the right place. I have eight of the 80's and Im pretty sure they're the intake valves. Then I have some that say A8 and some that say nothing. These are all the exhaust valves correct?

 

Intake valves are going to be the larger ones.

 

Thanks that's what I figured. I forgot to look at them when I pulled them out so I was confused on why there were 3 different ones

 

When disassembling an engine organization it key because of wear patterns. In the future mark every component with a paint marker or something, so the go back where they came from.

 

The 80's and A8's are stock OE valves... the ones with NO markings on the face are stock style replacement valves. I suggest you order a few more A8's to replace the ones that don't match, and then have the head checked and worked before re-assembly.

 

thanks for the replies I will surely pay more attention next time. The head is already back together and on the car. It was for a mini me project that has turned out to be a nightmare. Im seriously thinking about just putting the b7 head back on
