B20 Vtec Clearances trouble
Hello friends, I'm currently putting together a B20 Vtec, but it's driving me crazy!!
This engine came out of a driving car, it was boosted. I took it apart, and replaced the B16 head with a GSR head I had laying around. I decided to go back to NA and got Skunk2 Pro2 cams with Skunk2 pro cam gears. I lapped the valves and rebuilt the head. Then, I installed the cams in the GSR head and locked VTEC. I checked the V2V clearance, the only way that the valves do not hit each other with "safe-ish" clearance is the intake cam fully advanced and the exhaust cam fully retarded (0.030). As far as P2V clearance, I have no idea, I haven't clayed the engine. I have a cam degree kit on the way, but as far as I can see, the only way to run this motor safely with this configuration is the cams adjusted for safety since the valves will be hitting if I change the cam adjustments. Am I doing something wrong here?

I don't know what you are doing wrong, but those results cannot be right. Those cams are aggressive, but still manageable. I have never checked V2V on a cylinder head alone... it has always been on a long block in proper mechanical time so that all timing components are working in harmony.
