b16a2 new swap

I just got done swapping a new b16a2 i bought off of ebay into my em1. I got just about everything hooked up to it and when i tried to crank it up, it'll keep cranking over but would not start. I've checked the distributor and firing order. Everything seem to be in the correct firing order. What could be wrong here? Why don't it start?!

*****Nevermind this picture. I know where this plug supposed to be plugging into.

I had just about everything hooked up except for the radiator hoses and the radiator itself. Could this be the problem why it won't fire over?

Here's a shot of the dizzy, wires and the location where they went to. Seems about right, right??

The air intake system isn't hooked up, yet. Neither do i have the one to do so. I was gonna plan to just hooked up an air filter to the throttlebody and called it a go. Could this also be the reason why it won't fire over?

As you can see in the picture here, i got rid of the a/c and power steering hose. I don't think this would caused it to not fire up, could it?

Re: b16a2 new swap

Okay, so i tested for sparks consistency to make sure there's sparks between the wires and spark plugs. And there's sparks on all 4 wires. I even tried the fluid starter method where i spray starter fluid into the intake manifold to iginite the fue/air mixture and i got nothing. Still cranks, but no start.

Looks like your fuel injector plugs are installed backwards. The order would be (beginning at the cam gear end) brown, red, blue and then yellow. This refers to the signal ground wire color at each fuel injector clip... the other wire at all four positions is a yellow/black 12v+ source to energize the injector when the ECU sends the ground to do so.

Oh, cool. I didn't know that. Like does it really matter at all??

Also, it threw a CEL. P1359. It says something about my TDC is off or something. I pulled the plugs and check the TDC on those pistons with an extension. And it dosen't look good. 1 and 4 piston is just sittin' roughly 1 inch higher than 2 and 3. That is NOT TDC!!!

Of course it matters... fuel must be injected at just the right time or it doesn't go into the combustion chamber. Also, you may not be getting fuel to the injectors at all. You have a fuel dampener on the inlet side of the fuel rail... you need to make sure that the fuel feed line and the sealing washer match this design.

I also would not recommend starting it without coolant.

I honestly do not know how long the cylinders can keep cool without coolant in the water jacket when it fires up. I don't know if you have 10 seconds or 2 minutes before warping happens from hot spots due to dry jacket running.

It worked! I'm not sure because of me re-wiring the injector plugs around correctly, or it is perhaps, i had it on TDC then tried crank it but it worked! The engine cranks and starts now. Appreciate all the advices people!
