Viet Lam, Ed Bello, Rogers orange crx with the JUN engine, Dave Hickman, lenny higa, etc......

these are the people i remember from 97-00 area around there but i dont hear much if anything about them now.

 

Im sure they are still around. Prob. working on other peoples cars.
Eddie Bello was recently on SuperStreet Mag, but yet to see his Porche at the track

 

I was wondering about Viet Lam and David Shih last night. Where are they now?

Bellos not in jail anymore is he, i was almost sure he was out. oh wells

 

Last I heard Hickman was running again. I think he was in FL recently. Viet, I think has relocated to WA and working on cars up there...

 

eh my friend up in palmdale said hickman was trying to sell him a head package i told him not to bother

 

Lanny was at the last Palmdale race driving a APEXi sponsored hatchback,Bello has his Mobil1 tube frame Porsche coming by end of year, and Hickman is kicking it in Palmdale at his shop i wud think?

viet is in portland oregon, he has a couple of cars that sport his name for him, havent seen a car that is his yet though.

 

Roger's/AEBS' orange CRX was sold to a guy in Hawaii, just the chassis though. i believe, the JUN/AEBS engine that was in the orange CRX was sold to the owner of a neon green crx based in Virginia.

i also believe Lanny Higa works for Apexi now.

Viet's car was sold to Merrick & Fair Performance in Carlisle,PA.
It has yet to run as far as I know, closest I saw was a display at last year'sCarlisle show - the car had flex-a-lite stickers on it, but the windows were all cracked the hell up haha.

 

Bello never was in Jail, He got out on Bail in like two days , then the charges were dropped against him. No hard evidence

 

"i also believe Lanny Higa works for Apexi now. " Lanny does work for apexi.. they are redoing his car and the apexi hatch back also

Yeah, i remember seeign it at the carlisle event a while back. I didnt know that was Viets old car. I also never seen it make a pass, prolly never will at this rate. Looked nice too, blue with green flames, woohoo

 

it is so fast it is like a methanol fire and you never even see it,,,haha

 

i recently called up merrick and fair(about 2 or 3 monts ago) inquiring about their hatchback and a possible sponsorship, they told me that they had no plans on racing it this season and didnt want anyone to drive it for them. also didnt want to sponsor anyone, maybe they are having finacial difficulties or something..... or prolly just thought i was some idiot, so who knows.

i did see it close up at the "farm show" in feb of 2002. looks like it could run. but i think it would be "out classed" because its a full tube frame car. but its lacking all the little tricks that the profwd guys have.

Dave is still around just builiding motors. He still is in Lancaster. Takes a while to get the job done but does a nice job.
