Default Weight Reduction Questions:

Hey I drive a 95 prelude vtec and i have the understanding that these guys are VERRRY heavy. I know some of the things i could do , but rn't sure what kind of gains i could get from them.... Mods are as follows:

Apexi intake (either cai or short ram)
dc header
2.25 exhaust
Test Pipe
Vafc 2
Nitrous Dry 50 shot

Kyb Agx suspension

Kuhmo 712's (as of now)

THe only weight reduction done as of now are

Remove Spare Tire + jack

Now IM lookin in to the folowing peices:

Carbon Fiber Hood
Carbon fiber Trunk
Lightweight 15" rims (i.e rota slips prolly)
Carbon fiber Sunroof

What else would be beneficial?
I would rather not remove PS, but my ac does not work.. So how big of a job would that be?

Anyone give me an average for each part:

Carbon fiber hood: ???
" Trunk ???

stock rims (15"s) weigh 18lbs and the rotas weigh bout 11 i think.... so 28 rotational lbs? that good?

so 100 Lbs is .1 off 1/4 time right? DOES IT MATTER where it is coming off? bottom? rims? top?

Go to the prelude forum and do a search on weight reduction. There is some good info there. There is a balance on what makes sence with weight reduction - you need to decide what goal you have for the car. You can get a prelude moderately fast without major sacrafice on comfort.

btw, didn't mean to be "smart" or scarcastic, I just couldn't help it when I saw the title about weight reduction. Good luck with the Prelude, I just thought it would add some humor

slicks would help more than a short shifter.

CAMS would help out.
for 13s....

as for weight reduction
try buying a set of stock doors for cheap, and cutting them and make your own windows.

i knocked 130+ lbs off my car.
