V Band Everything
I have a 6266 turbo k20 in a integra.. I was wondering how many of you guys are using straight v band right off the throttle body, turbo(not talking about downpipe) and intercooler.. I was thinking about doing this so I don't have to use any silicone on the piping.. but I was thinking there would be no flex.. and if I hit a bump it would just crack it.. and if I use the silicone and clamps.. it would give a little flex..
The car is a weekend type car.. no daily driving.. sunday driving.. to meets.. some drag events..
Thanks in advance

It's a furrel and rubber orings and a clamp thee is a enough give. I also have max extreme
Race mounts from hasport. My motor doesn't move at all and the intercooler doesn't move either.

Ok.. I got it.. I mean I am just thinking that if I ever hit a bump.. the piping or flange welded on to the throttle body will break.. What do you think I should do.? did you use all clamp like that everywhere on the intercooler setup?
vanjen clamps allow for movement whereas v banded clamps do not allow for movement. Either run vanjen clamps or wiggins style clamps and you will not have to work about breaking anything from engine vibration.
I run the clamps on cold side only. I have a coupler from the turbo the the intercooler because I already had the 2.5" coupler and cold side is 3" so got vanjens instead of buying couplers. Plus Turbo-Elements have me a good deal on all th work I had done to the car

Ok awesome. . I was thinking about welding a v band clamp on the turbo? Is that ok.. or making things difficult
I have the couplers on my whole setup... cold side=3" and turbo to I intercooler is 2.5".. just was thinking to switch to all vanjen setup. .
I run 3 3" Vanjens on my hot side and on the cold side it's 2 4" Vanjens and 1 3" Vanjen. My engine doesn't have solid mounts either thanks to the awesome design of the Vanjen clamps I still don't have any issues.
That's what im worried about.. but according to people on here.. we shouldn't have to worry about it.. so.. yeah.. im still trying to figure out.. if I should do only one side or both..
There is quite a bit of flex with Wiggins or Vanjen style clamps. I poobably wouldnt run vband's unless you have solid mounts, but even then I would imagine it would be a bit of a pain.
I run Wiggins, and they work awesome (Turbo to intercooler, both inlet and outlet of intercooler, one mid way up the cold side piping, and one at the TB)
