Default Tubes or no tubes? Let's hear it!!

Looking for information and opinions from those that have run mid to large slicks (24.5"+) with or without tubes.

Mickey Thompson seems to strongly recommend them for safety and consistency (consistency is huge to me!) but acknowledges there's a cost and performance hit. What MT has to say. I can't seem to find anything on the M&H site about them.

Thoughts/opinions?

i will have to agree with the weight issue BUT, somehow i picked up something on the return road at e-town and developed a leak. i talked with john from M&H where i got my slicks from originally, and instead of buying a new matched set, he suggested i tube them. i am trapping 130+- and i can say it is a hell of a lot stabler upstairs than w/o tubes. but either way seems to work. now, since i have driven tubed, i think i will stay that way.

Weight issue?

My tubes maybe weigh 2lbs a piece.. There not MH tubes.. But there the recommended size.

13x7 for my 22x8x13" slick.

I will be running them for saftey.

There is a weight issue with the tubes. My old drag-on flys with tubes and MH 24.5x8.5x13 weighed a ton compared to my pro4's with the same tires and no tubes. Maybe something was just wrong with my arm dyno at the time?

On the other hand, if the macufacturer reccomends it, I'd probably listen.
