I heard Tony practiced using the Droid drag racing game and just transferred the gear ratios and launch techniques to his racecar

Yes, G Force requires DP or themselves to do the assembly as far as I understand it. Generally speaking I think it's a good thing, the best gears in the world won't hold up if assembled wrong.
