Default SMPSC Block Build:

Well I started putting my block together last weekend... The build has taken twice as long as it prolly should because I've been taking many many pictures of the process in hope to create soon a "how to" thread on how to build a honda block, head, tranny, etc.. from the ground up for others to hopefully benifit from. When complete, it'll show what parts I've used in the build, what lubricates, sealers, etc.. I personally use, etc.. Anyhow, I was looking over some of the pictures that I took from the other day and 95% of them turned out very well... Here's a few teaser shots for others to see..

Anyhow, enough talk, here's a few pictures to get you started...

Old Pistons (JDM P73) vs. Wiseco Super Duper:

Bare ITR block ready for some attention:

Few piston/rod shots:

Couple in cylinder shots:

My personal fav... Gotta love the custom valve cover my brother presented me.. (FBP to match the car, with 5 coats of clear) Turned out pretty damn nice I think:

Definately more pictures to come.. I'll have some head, tranny, car pics that'll I'll post up later as the car becomes more of a finished product... Stay tuned!!

Pistons are Import Builders Super Duper's which usually come in 84-85mm (which I'll be running next year actually in my drag car project.. These particular ones that I'm using for this project are in a 81.5mm bore... 9.3cc dome... so I'm trying these out to see what they produce power wise for jeff since to my knowledge they're the highest dome height piston that I've seen or heard of. The rods are H-Beams also from Import Builders as well.... all new OEM bearings down low, running the same factory ITR crank since the motor only had roughly 6000 miles on it since day one. As far as final compression, I'll find that out once I get the head attched and do a test... We're guessing in the 13:3-5:1 range I would think.. The goal for this project is to get the car to pull any kinda 12's on the track which I wouldn't think should be a problem since I ran 13.3 last year with the ITR motor stock, but we'll see what happens..

Valve cover was a birthday present from my brother... He actually took it outta my garage without me knowing about it... I didn't even realize that it was gone actually..lol then he braught it back on my birthday and said "Hey Bro, I fixed your VC".. Turned out super nice.. I'm scared to put it on the car and scratch it now...lol

I'll know exactly once I get the head slapped on, but it should be around the 13.5:1 mark or so..

Looks great. I'm looking foward to the complete write up of this motor. I'm about to do my own build up(first one) and between this write up and Dustins,I should be able to walk rite threw it.
