Default Slick size question

I have been running the same 24.5x8.7x13 slicks for the past two years. I have dynoed with them, driven them on the street, and they have even seen some oil when I had an oil leak problem. My 60 foots are horrible 1.7-1.8 and are getting worse. I use to cut 1.6 all day long not anymore.

So I have a set of 25x8.7x13 slicks that only have a few passes on them. But right now I am only making 505HP and I am running an LS trans. I was wondering if I step up to the 25 inch slick will that hurt my times more then help? I am pretty sure I will get lower 60 foot times but I don't know if they will be to tall with ls trans.

I am planning on buying some new 24.5 slicks but as of now it is not in my budget. I was going to mount the 25's tonight and try them this weekend at NOPI. Let me know.

Funny that you said that because the guy who does mine said the same exact thing, he stated the Mickey Thompsons in his opinion were a better quality slick and he could tell from installing each. Again that was his opinion and he mounts tires and wheels everyday so...

i dont know if id say better quality but the M/T's are a lot easier to mouth and ballance....once chad gets more track time with the MH's then ill be able to judge them better....i dont know too many people running them personally.

HAHA yeah can't wait till the cargo plane is done so we don't have to drive the truck and trailer to the events. That traffic jam sucked last night.

I stepped up from the 24.5 to the 25's and it hurt my mph and et pretty bad believe it or not , the car had 590 to the wheel. Stepped it back down to a brand new set of 24.5's and it made a difference.

actually I disagree with that one. the M&H are way easier to mount than the M/T. Thats from our experience.

There are other factors that can matter too though. Wheel width, tire size and width, etc. So its hard to say.
