Default Shakedown at Etown

http://grs-motorsports.com/index/index.html

I was there both days this weekend to watch, awesome event. More of you local guy's should come out and watch this heads up door slammer racing.

Brad Personett went a 5.80 on Saturday.

Paul Major went 6.74 on drag radials, Tim Lynch went 6.28 on a 10.5 tire.

It was a little cool and windy, but lots of HP.

Oh BTW they did mention a few times that this coming weekend was the Sport Compact Fall Nationals.

Both days. And Sunday I hung out with Ballard and Rob. Always a good event. Sunday had alot of breakage, bad runs .

I thought I heard Brain's name mentioned over the loud speaker once. We left about 7PM saturday night and about 4PM Sunday. Wanted to get home at a decent hour, I've been getting up at 3AM to go to work the past few weeks.

That was also a nice interview with Jessica. Glad she's still working these type of events.

I was also hopping to see the Mech-Tech big motor car run with the big boy's.

I was thier on sunday with about 30 guys we were with the Black beretta. We had the grudge match for $56,000 against that white firebird. We lost by a car but overall it was good time and def ALOTTT of fast cars. There was one chick that was driving the 275 drag radial class that carried the left front wheel from half track to finish. I dunno if i was more impressed with the cars that were thier or the MOTORHOMES,STACKERS,TOTERS and CAMPERS. Hot damb thier was TONS of money sittin in that parking lot!!!!

Was that the blue Mustang, that run was amazing, to see her let off about the 330 mark then hit it hard and left the left front tire, that was crazy.

In the stands we really couldn't make out what the 56K was all about.

The blue drag radial Mustang that went 7.32@192 was driven by Amanda "Puddin" Long. She drove the hell out of that car. She's also pretty easy on the eyes. Watching Tim Lynch pretty much DEMOLISH his own record at 6.26@230+ was something I'll never forget! He backed that up on Sunday with a 6.28. Brad Personett was killing them with 5.80@248+ passes all weekend. We can't forget Benny Alfonso's horrific top end accident in Blown Pro Mod that ended racing on Saturday night. They had to cut him out of the car and they learned that he couldn't feel his legs. He was rushed to surgery where they repaired some vertebrae in his neck and back and he now can feel his legs again. Lots of record shattering elapsed times run this weekend.

Heavy Street: Tom Tarsia 6.64@204 in Heavy Street (3400lb car)
Drag Radial: Paul Major (NRGTech?) 6.74@223mph
Outlaw 10.5: Tim Lynch 6.26@232mph
Mountain Motor Pro Stock: Pete Berner 6.209@225.97
Blown Pro Mod: Brad Personett 5.80@253mph
Nitrous Pro Mod: Khalid al Balooshi 5.881@241.88mph

Exciting weekend!!!

I like how Tim Lynch used the frame rail as the charge pipe. Also enjoyed seeing how different teams do the turbo piping on different cars.

Awesome Engineering.
