Default S300 full throttle shift?

those of you who shift WOT, are you using the full throttle shift feature in the s300?

i havent tried this feature yet and just wanted to get some info on it.

im assuming i just enter the max rpm i want the engine limited to while the clutch pedal is depressed?

if so, would it be best to activate it using the clutch switch or just leave it on all the time?

I'm interested in this also. Thought about playing around with it but don't want to mess up.

You got to bypass you clutch switch (so your car can start with out pushing in the clutch) then wire up the clutch switch to your s300 one wire to ground the other to your s300. The s300 gives you a few differnt options in pins to wire it up to. I usually set the rpm bout 500-750 rpm lower then what my shift rpm will be.

yeah i already have the clutch switch bypassed and wired up to its own pin.

so you want to set the rpm lower than your shift point?

why is that?

for example, if im shifting @ 9500 rpm, why not set it to 9600 rpm?

because your next gear engagement is going to be lower than the point you shift at.

if your shifting at 9500rpm you want to set the setting around 9000rpm that way it drops the rpm down so it doesnt over rev between shifts.

ok well i have used it and i could shift it to where it wouldn't even come close to comming on (not bragging) but it kinda seemed pointless if u are already a fast shifter. A guy once told me if u can shift fast enough you don't need it. but yes you have to have a diff clutch switch i cant remeber which one and basically what it does is when you push the pedal in it goes to a selected rpm that you program to keep revs up or down. just my 2 cents

I use it and like it. Works nice for keeping spool on larger turbo setups.

did you have to invert the input to make this to work? thanks.

when i had s300 in my car i actually used that input to shift the car with out using the clutch.

the only time ive really used that is when a trans/clutch combo has a hard time shifting at high rpm. in that case use the WOT cut to slow the motor down to try to get the car to shift better.

ive also tried all kinds of different rpm points. as long as it cuts, the rpm activation point doesnt seem to make very much of a difference.

Can you hit a better 1/4 with that?

dont use it. you will go quicker without it and just full throttle shifting off the rev limiter.

using hondata's full throttle shift set to not fall below 8000rpms or so i would run 11.2 in the 1/4

full throttle shifting off the 8500 rpm rev limiter i run 10.9.

Bringing this back from the dead.....

Would the full throttle shift feature, if setup properly, help reduce shock on the drivetrain to help save stock transmissions?

What is the best maximum speed for the launch control with the full throttle shift? I had my shift limiter RPM set at 6250 but it won't allow me to launch any higher. Should I try and increase it to 150+ so my 2 step won't have a limit at the tree?

I do not believe it would. Your clutch engagement will not change.
If you want to reduce shock loads on the drivetrain, use a flow control valve. Tilton or clutchmasters work. I use the tilton flow control valve and it works great.

I had the same issue. When I had the launch control and full throttle shift set up, the full throttle shift would override the launch. And that included anti-lag. I had to stop using it even if the full throttle was set higher than my launch. I kept running a 10.7 and once full throttle was disabled I immediately ran a 10.02 @ 150.5mph. I say, learn to shift faster and disable it.

Hmm.. good to know. Looks like ill have to set my shift cut at 7200 so I can still launch that high
