Default Roll Cage Question

I'm installing my cage and have a few questions..

1. My main hoop is within a 1/4" of my headliner, but with my helmet on my helmet is pretty much level or slightly below the top of the bar... so do I just need a lower seat? or is it fine to be up that high as long as im not touching the halo...

2. i think i have it sitting too far towards the rear of the car, it has to be 6" or less from the back of your helmet right?

Thanks.

The answers to your questions are right in the rule book, height wise you will be ok, but you have your hoop leaning to the rear of the car, and you need to lean it the other way. You flip the car the way it is now, and the roof is coming down on your helmet!

forward lean is bad. The main hoop is supposed to be within 6" of your head and atleast 3" higher than the top of your helmet(but i think they go a little light on that). You need a racing seat to drop you lower. If you are not going to certify it then i wouldn't worry to much but if you are, make sure these things are addressed. Trim some off the bottom and make the bar stand up straiter.

Section 4:11 3rd Paragraph "Main hoop may be laid back or forward" A little formard lean shouldnt hurt too much, but it is allowed. It really wouldnt matter IMO if it was a 10pt, but w/o the front half of car done I wouldnt lean it much forward.

i always lean the main hoop back... it geberally fits better along with the contour of the seat. dont quote me but i believe the max setback for a hoop was either 17 or 18 degrees. i generally set them to anywhere between 10 and 15 anyway.
