Default Rim Widths???

What rim widths are you using?

For 9" wide slicks? say a 25x9-15 for SportFWD?

For 10.5"? say for Hotrod or ProFWD?
I know Mustang guys are using 12" wide rims for their 28x10.5-15.

Thanks!

look at what the Manufacturer recommends. They usually wold say the required Rim width to get the proper contact patch for that slick.

most of our sport compact sizes as for 8" wide rim.

In Mustang or 10.5" RWD racing, they are limited to 10.5" so they use a wider wheel to maximize the contact patch and also stiffen up the sidewall/tire because of the minimum weights of Super Street Outlaw and similar cars.

It unbelievable that a 28x10.5-15 can hold 1800+HP and 2800+lbs!

I know what manufacturers recommend, but as in 10.5" racing, racers will "stretch" the limits to get an advantage.

Does this happen in FWD racing?

Thanks again!
