questions about lexan/plexiglass windshield....
well my front windshield is cracked and this is my track warrior....i dont drive it on the streets at all.I really dont want to pay 150$ for a piece of heavy glass...so i was pondering using plexiglass...is it cheaper than lexan?
is plexiglass legal at the drag strip?

plexi is to brital and will crack, and for some reason there is a accident that plexi could cut pretty good, use lexan you could find it at lowe's they have it it will say lexan on the protective sheet.

i think my windshield of lexan cost $50 maybe more. buy a sheet, take out ur old stock glass, fit and cut it. real easy and u have the means to say "yeah, i cut my own windshield."

the lexan from lowes is thick enough because i ran for 2 years with no problem from the nhra tech's or ndra.

What car is it for? I have a windshield "brand new" for an integra. It is speedglass. Its suppose to be better then lexan because it will not scratch as easy. I believe it is 3/16" but I'll have to look. It is formed for direct fitment. They are 479.00 at percy's which is where it came from. Looking to get 250.00 but don't really what to ship. I'm in Fot Myers.
measure it again. It is a tiny bit to thin. not like anyone would ever notice but still it isnt legal. I think its like 1/16 to thin.
To the guy who started the topic i would say spend the extra money and buy a windshield. A lexan windshield isnt worth it on a street car and is more trouble then its worth. Even if it doesnt leak it will always fog.
he who buys cheap buys twice
