pro's and cons of oversized valves

Default pro's and cons of oversized valves

going to do a rebuild on my d16z6 take the bore to just 20 over wanting to do new valves,is oversized say .5 mm bad,wrong,great should i do dished,flat or what i have the comp 59300 cam also.please educate anyway u can before i purchase

i think you should go over size only if you have enough air to flow through the motor ie turbocharge or supercharge.

i forgot to mention i was useing a nx express kit,single shark nozzle going to convert to direct port

are u talking about the yellow crx?i'll be switching to direct port also if that matters about using a bigger valve or not,i would love to have ur input on this one since u are the man in this choice of topic

Dished valves are lighter and drop about .2-1 in your compression ratio if you are switching from a flat head valve.
Flat head valves raise your compression ratio slightly but are slightly heavier.
Since your engine is essentially an air pump, .5mm oversized valves will help it breath better.
BTW, you need upgraded springs and titanium retainers if you have not made that modification yet.
I use the SuperTech springs and valves in my race car and love them.
I can hook you up with a good price on them if you are interested.

in my opinion if you do not open the bowl in relation to the size of the valve putting a larger valve in the head would be futile.

your right throat size is important with big valves
