Default Ordering slicks need help with size....

Ok i need some info from people with experience.. I'm looking at getting either a 23" slick which has been recommended or a 24.5" slick..

The car is a eg hatch it weighs 2500lb with me in it.. It is a b16 turbo making 366hp and 243tq on 18lbs.. i'm gonna be retuning it on C16 shooting for over 400hp maybe 23lbs or so on stock sleeves..

Right now on 225-50-15" bfg drag radials i bang it off the rev limiter almost immediately in 1st and 2nd gear revving to 9k.. I got tire pressure at 18psi but scared to go lower on the street and don't get traction till 3rd gear where it does'nt spin at all..

I figured the 24.5" is about the same has my 225-50-15", but i was told to go with a 23" thoughts??

You never mentioned what size tire u want to put the slick on

What id recommend is a 13 inch rim and a 24.5 or 25 inch slick.. B16 tranny?

M&H has a 25x8x13 and i have had good luck on that slick at a similiar HP level as yours

you want to be going through the traps just past your peak hp rpm in 4th gear... with the drag radials you should have a rough estimate as to how fast you'll be going. if you have a ton of 4th left when you go through the traps, get 23s, otherwise, get the 24.5s... on that note...tons of guys run 23s that are all motor running the same tranny as you do and that ends up being the right size tire for 115ish mph... you make quite a bit more...24.5s are probably the right choice

i used a gsr tranny as well (and lensos also) on 386hp, ran 10.9's on 25x8x13 M&H's.. so being that you have a similiar setup, thats what i'd suggest.

No 23's

Well last year i ran with street tires and they we're 205-50-15" bfg drag radials smaller then what i got now.. I could'nt even pull a 2.0 60 ft my best was a 2.10 i had bad wheel hop problems.. I also had a open diff b16 tranny that was beatup.. My trap varied from 114-117mph depending on 60ft.. I also went into 5th gear right before the line..

2300lbs with my big *** inside.. Your going to notice alot of changes when u get rid of those drag radials.. If you are a good driver, and learn how to launch on your new slicks, you should have no problem going deeeep into the 11's...I hate drag radials, lol

do you plan on pre-loading? do you have 2step. what tire pressure did you plan on running. just curious, since u said u were scared to lower yer tire pressure in yer drag radials.. You aint seen nothin yet, lol

Not sure if i'm gonna preload on slicks or not have'nt really done it much i've tried it a few times but i don't have it down..

I did break a oem axle on the line last year..

I ran the car on slicks before on the stock motor before it was built made 266hp they we're 20x8x14" m&h slick at 9lbs tire pressure ripped a 1.8 60ft and ran a 8.4 1/8th mile but those tires we're tiny... I don't wanna lower my drag radials much more for the street thier at 18 psi right now...

I don't have a 2 step setup i kinda gotta find the right launch point before i can set that up anyway.. Running a hondata s100

i've talked to exospeed and will be ordering soon..

My **** weighs in a bit over 2700lbs with me.

I use 24.5 MH slicks on 13" Lenso's.

Ripped a 1.6 60ft at Pomona.

24.5's will help you hook better nut be careful of your luanch or you might snap an axle coming out of the hole depending on what you launch it at

since 2002.

I would suggest the 24.5x8.5x13 M&H setup. right for your HP and trans combo,.
