Default NHRA rule question

I was just wondering if you can use a Mild steal cage and front mig welded or does it have to be tiged?

You are waisting your time and money using mild steel. Unless you plan on never running faster than 7.50's. Plus chromoly is way stronger, lighter, and is barely more expensive.

Very true but to someone who already has a MIG welder and everything I need to build everything out of mild steal then it is better to do Mild Steal...... to me I dont see spending 2000+ dollars on a decent TIG welder only to have saved SOME weight. and plus I am only planning on running low 9's high 8's
