No other details were listed. Sounds like a class for the Bob Norwood funny car. Interesting stuff, anyone have more information???

 

Hmm....rumor has it that the bullish guys are building a supra powered rail car for exhibition.

 

dayum, now someone can bring out that all motor NSX motor in a tube chassied car and the driver can sit in the middle. Or a car like Jarrod Silver's all motor set up can run...spin the motor and run an aftermarket tranny. Hope this is true.

Maybe it is me, but I don't see there would be a lot of cars for this class. ???? Might be interesting to see them run though.

 

there are alot of aircooled turbocharged rails that could possibly run, vw paradise, etc. might bring out some othere vehicles that are around......or in the process

 

That must be the new class for Rado and the Norwood funny car???

 

I believe that Nopi mainly established this new class for entertainment value and to bring about a place where cars can race that might not fit into any other class. I doubt that there will be many cars in it this next season.

It has run, it made 1834hp on methanol, but we can't find an ignition system to fire it on nitro. It's fuel injected, which top fuel cars aren't and magnetos will interfere with the motec from RF noise. It's got 3 plugs per cyl and none of the systems tested so far will fire it. It's sitting in the garage, waiting to be finished...

 

If it made 1800 on meth...it'll easily make 4000 on Nitro.

 

Why not just make it mechanically injected, then you could use the Magnetos.. Have you tried the MSD 10's. Put a couple of them on there, that should do it.

 

Because Bob wanted to try something different, with fuel injection. The car runs on methanol, does it's burnout on methanol, and then switches over to nitro right before the run. The idea is to make the motors live longer since the time on nitro is minimal. It's sitting aside right now, but then the pro car is done we'll start tinkering with it again. We'll see where it goes from there...

 

I thought you guys couldnt actually dyno the car. I thought the car was following the whole "cant tune it till you run it, cant run it till you tune it" type of situation. Thats cool how it switches over the gases, good idea

Can tune on meth, can't tune on nitro. Bob's dyno has been upgraded to handle 2000hp, but that won't work with nitro!

I thought that car had Kenny Tran's name on it as well as the Quaker State signage on it. Oh by the way what up with Norwood and the Jotech camp for near anyway????

 

Kenny is on his own for next year...
