I am about to start going to a couple of local tracks by me. I am only going for test and tune runs. My question is this, I know you need a helmet for anything 13.99 and quicker so does it matter what kind? I assume any DOT helmet will do? Do I need one with a Snell rating? I live in MD but would assume the laws are the same across the board as most tracks go with NHRA rules. I am thinking that NHRA rules may only apply in an NHRA event and not for TnT? Any help thanks!

 

Dot should be fine I have a shoei from when I had my bike I just use that.

 

DOT is fine. If the track is NHRA they will likely require you to have one when they tech you....if you tell them what you run.

Buy a SA2010 helmet and you will be able to use it anywhere (drag racing, road racing, etc, etc)

OMP and Racequip both have nice entry level SA2010 helmets
