I think it would be wise for everyone to mention what dyno they were tuned on as well....

 

I think this thread is a horrible idea. to many variables, and no way to know who's telling the truth

 

yea... a lot of low #'s going 9's! Too many factors... suspension, weight etc

 

dan did the mph / weight hp calculator to see if we were on par with our dyno reading.

 

my car dynoed 710 at evans. on the 9.98 pass at 148, at 2600lbs, we get 692 hp with this calculator.

In 2003 I went 9.90's at 149-151MPH making 630WHP (Dynojet) at 2440lbs. That was leaving on all 630 (single stage boost controller) and with crappy mid 1.7 60's. With todays tire, suspension, and boost control technology, the same setup should be capable of 9.60's. That being said with 550WHP (Dynojet) at 2400lbs, I believe 9.90's are def. possible in today's age.

Seems like all of the examples posted are cars at 2400-2600lbs. Whats the lightest that you can get a SFWD car?

 

since there really isnt a sanctioning body, but yes the sfwd weight was 2400. i cant recall the outlaw weight, true street weight for our cars is 2300lb.

 

I dont really think this thread makes much since because there really isnt a minimum hp range. Its more about your weight, wheelbase, suspension and transmission. What good is 900whp when you cant put it to the blacktop. Id rather have straight cuts in a rsx trans with 500whp than a stock one with 900whp

 

Is that calc specifically for FWD's? I played with those calc's in the past and they all gave me times a RWD car would do with Turbo FWD MPH's if that makes any sense, I pretty much deduct .5 sec off all those calcs if its a FWD car.


Example:

I just entered 595whp with a weight of 2650, it gave me 9.58@139.8 ..... well we all know that aint happening well maybe with a 10.5" slick and a 9" rear.

With 500whp worth of D-Pack numbers I went 137 in a 2650lb car, the calc says I was only making 392whp....

didnt play with fwd or rwd, actually, now im goin back to look.

side note, sorry ben she is not here yet, actually may 10th. we had #2 ultrasound today. and she actually let us know what gender she is hahaa.

600+whp I think with less weight and good suspension would get you high 9's. Not to mention with a great driver!

 

dont take it to bradenton till your running 6.6 or 6.7 in the 1/8 its not worth the abuse i went 6.69 with 499 hp u saw it

 

with 715whp using dynojet (STD correction), i run multiple 9 sec runs with a best of 9.70@151mph on my fourth run.
