I know its not all about the power, but whats considered standard power for an EG to get into the 9's..???

There are sooooooo many variables, but I don't see why it isn't possible with about 650-700whp and a good setup.

 

took us 589 WHP out of a stroker B16A to go 9.896@148.62 in 2008 in a full weight EG.

 

thats just about where mine's at, but i figured it would be only enough to run in the mid 10's, the car weights about 2400 with me in it..

 

2,300lb CRX - 9.58@155 MPH 590 HP

 

680 hp 2000 civic 2400lbs

 

took me 609hp to touch 9.962 at 144mph the car weight at 2500lb

 

About 600whp on a turbo setup. About 360 with no power adders.

 

Can some of you post the 60. 330. and 1/8 for those runs please. both et and mph

Not really. There's no 2400lb car running 9's n/a with 360whp.

just few monts ago i ran a 10.7/ 129mph sept 2009 with a full teg only at 20lbs off boost .with crapy rt.

 

reaction time has absolutely nothing to do with it. you can stage on friday, and leave on monday. time does not start til you break the beam.

my buddy is at about 2600pounds 670ish whp
9.8 was his best time

 

I think it is possible with a very well set up car to go into 9's with under 600whp and still trap high. It also has to do with gearing. I was trapping at 132mph in my over factory weight integra with AC, PS, etc on 550whp. You cut 600lbs off of that Its goin to pick up MPH and that is on well under 600whp

 

makes me feel better about my sentra, haha, im around 550whp, car weighs 2280 with me in it. also around 475wtq to go with it. If i can get traction i think it will be very very possible next time out. Especially since its down in the 40's in the evenings now. Last time i ran with 461whp,391wtq same weight on a 93 degree day i went 11.1@132 absolutely horrible traction and slipping clutch.

Ive taken care of both problems now and added almost another 100whp and 80wtq. Cant wait to get to the strip. haha

the gearing on the tranny will be what get's you over the hill on using the least amount of whp.

 

just remembered to mention gearing after reading it in this thread. we used stock LS transmission with a spool.

 

yeah my gearing is pretty nice, I wont have to shift to 5th, 1st and 2nd gear are fairly short but 3rd and 4th are long. on 24.5" slicks my 4th gear should top out at 162mph at 8000 rpms. 3rd gear will put me at about 130mph or so. I figure my trap is gonna be between 145-150mph im thinking right at 145. Its gonna come down to traction for sure.

 

at 2400lbs and 600hp in a car that is setup right should get into the 9s
