Default M2000 or SA2000 helmet???

I'm looking to buy a new helmet.... Do I need to buy a SA2000 helmet to be legal at the track or will a M2000 do? The car I'll be running will be in the 10s.

Thanks in advance....

btw, I looked in the NHRA rulebook, there's nothing about a M2000 helmet, so I'm assuming it's not legal.

Either helmet will work. Snell rating of 90, 95, 2000. SFI spec 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, or 41.2A.

Here are two different models from RCI.

M2000 Snell:

RCI-3025W
$139.95

SA2000 Snell:

RCI-3125W
$249.95

Compare them here:

The M2000 has a nylon helmet interior, and the SA2000 has a nomex helemt interior.

a snell 90 will expire in a few months so definetly get something with a 2000 label.

Yeah, my current helmet is a snell90, that's why I'm looking for a new one.

I heard the snell 2005 is coming out soon too.

Get the SA2000 Helmet. It's interior and paint are flame retardant for one thing.
It's padding and shell are also designed for roll bar impacts while the the motorcycle helmet isn't.
Most important though is that the M2000 helmet isn't legal for drag racing and they
check for it in the Pro Classes at least.

This was what I was afraid of..... Can anyone else confirm this since one person says yes and one says no.
