LSD....and drag racing for dummies..
Okay guys first off let me start off with saying that I am in No ways a pro-drag racer (like most of you) or have any asspirations of being one. Im simply a daily driven hybrid/semi-weekend racer, hence my 14.92 @ 92.8mph 1/4mile time with a 2.2 60ft.
Now my first question, being that im not totaly sure if im going to go with boost or just stay N/A i just want to be able to use the power that i currently have to all of my advantage until i decide what i really want to do.
I know that LSD like quaife's are mainly used in auto-x to help out in cornering but say that i get an LSD for my gsr powered 4dr.... will that help me much and be worthwhile/MONEY/lowering my timeslips much? After all getting the power to the ground is critical for all FWD cars right? How much if any should i see improvements?
Secondlly i had run a 14.9 before when the motor was stock...a while back i had decided to get some R cams and the R valve springs...and i went to the track all happy thinking i was going to run a couple of tenths quicker but to no avail.....still a 14.9 with a 2.2 60ft....what could be wrong? Shouldnt that of have helped somewhat?
Do i need to get them tuned to be able to extract the power from them?and then maybe see improvents?
The Setup:
gsr powered 4dr civic
R cams
bent to hell DC 4-2-1 header
3yrold cat 2.25 all the way back also bent to hell
and recently added AEM CAI *have not run it since AEM*

On the Type R cams, everyone tunes those to +4 on the intake side and either +1 or -1 on the exhaust side for the best power. Try that if you have or can afford some cam gears.
The quaife will lower your track times, but also make it a more enjoyable daily driver.

The Quaife should help out quite a bit on the launch, but as he said, it's going to make the car an all-around better driver. In that sense it's an excellent mod. I'm not sure how much of an improvement it would make unfortunately, having never seen before-and-after results, but you'd think that turning two wheels on the launch would be better than turning one.
