Default How much power are people making on E85?

Since I have ran out of 116 and looking to buy another 55 gallons I was wondering what type of power people have made on E85 and any issues with the fuel? I have heard you have to be careful where you purchase it from b/c it can be cut differently and will not always have the same make up.

Just wondering if this would be a better way to go. Obviously it would be a lot cheaper then buying 116.

you can make just as much power as you are now.

its a matter of fuel burned per hp..

you might want to take a look at your fuel system. + timing map.

I made 10% more power when I switched from 112 to E85. I have found that a few people have been right about the same 10% range when they switched. You just need a fuel system that can keep up because it demands about 30% to 35% more fuel.

So if my goal would be 800hp and I have a weldon 2015a pump -10 feed -6 return, with 1600cc injectors would that be enough injector or would i need a second set?

Speaking of cars that you have tuned Tony didn't Allen make like almost 700 on E85?

I don't think that pump will be enough.

I ran a Weldon 2345a pump last year on ethanol, (4) 1600cc injectors, and we were totally maxxed out on the fuel system at about 28psi of boost, with a base FP of 45psi. Which would equate to about 600whp in my car.

If your goals are 800, you will definately need another set of injectors, and honestly I would recommend a mechanical pump.....or just stay on gas...haha

what about 2 bosch 044 pumps 1600cc injectors and 2 1000cc injectors?
How can I run those 2 extra injectors?

to properly add those injectors you would need some sort of output that is user configureable. pusle width modulated, and it would go off of rpm/boost, then you would need an additional driver box to drive the injectors. i dont know if neptune has any user configurable pulse width modulated outputs ? getting power to the extra injectors is the easy part. getting them to function properly... could be a task. lol

No, we ran into this issue the last race of the year for us, which was E-town. That was going to be the next thing to try, but I decided to add 4 more injectors and a mechanical fuel pump and call it a day.....

Do you remember back when a few of the guys were running 2 of the Weldon 2345a pumps, (at $1200 a pop) and trying all kinds of different fuel setups???

I just think if you are going to run alcohol, and make big power, you need a mechanical pump, and at least another set of injectors, depending on ultimate power goals maybe more......you'll have alot less headaches, believe me.

So personally, I don't think that is enough of fuel system with alcohol....with gas, yeah...even though I'm not a fan of dual pumps

What a tease. Can you divulge any more info about that setup? Or is that just what the red teg does on e85?

Tony, what kind of boost levels have you pushed on E85?? We stopped at about 23 psi.

We'll have to give it some more boost then...haha...I'm monitoring knock now, so we won't be as paranoid to push it a bit harder.

With 4 1600cc injectors, what flow (lb/hr) fuel pump would be needed to make 700whp on E85? I ask because I would like to get 700 out of my setup, and have 1600's and an A1000 (600lb/hr) and I dont know if that A1000 has enought flow to get to 700.

I personally don't think an A1000 will be enough pump, from my experiences with E85....however, all my experiences have been on my Subaru

run an AEM EMS, staged injection, at that point id do like 1000cc mains, 1600cc secondaries
