Default How to launch better in an auto?

I've been trying to get a better launch with my automatic, and my best 60' is 2.33 seconds. Currently I floor the gas and brakes at the same time, and the highest it will rev is 3k rpm, and thats where I launch at. Is there any way to allow me to rev higher to launch, such as an ecu controller or new torque converter? Or any techniques to make the auto launch better in general? (And please don't mention neutral drops or manual swaps..)

TCI makes a stall converter for honda automatics, i would contact them. I belive that they also offer a rebuild kit, maby it comes with some upograded parts?

yeah, the easiest way to launch better is to upgrade the torque converter so it has a higher stall speed.

I'm not inclined often on commenting a 16 second car but an automatic F22 Accord running 16.14's is pretty quick.

No, it's not bad on your engine but it will blow the transmission after a few goes...

flush the tranny with b&m synthetic trickshift fluid.. get some sticky *** tires and neutral drop it .... i was pullin low 2.2's in my 94 w/the h22 auto that way... that was on kuhmo 712's at that.. put some raidals or a bigger tire on there i could have seen lower.

if you dont want to do that then put alot of air in the tires .... 45-50psi, so you can spin off hte line to get the engine up into the power faster.

Pat's COnverters will build you a converter, any stall speed you want, ask for
Steve and tell him "Steve from R&R" sent you.

Automatics just LOVE nitrous, bolt on a 75 shot and a set of slicks and you could
drop 1 1/2 to 2 sec off the ET.

I had a old project car a couple years ago, 92 Geo Storm. Went from 2.3 60's
to a best 1.85 with a small set of slicks and a 75 shot. That little POS went 14.0's!
