Make sure that ebrake is pulled all the way up!! Pull it up until you cant pull it up any more. I had the problem of rolling while trying to do a burnout, and it turned out I didnt pull the ebrake up enough.

roll through water, lock E brake, put it in second gear, rev it up to 8k and dump the clutch. let them spin over a few seconds. let off the ebrake and roll forward.

Make sure to get enough water on them, but not too much. And don't be putting on a smoke show either. Turn the steering wheel from side to side in cases where only one tire is spinning. That technique will make both tires spin.

Pull up to water box ,, while in the dip spin the tires to get them completly wet ..
the car will pull out of the box .. dump the clutch and burn pass the 60' mark .
back up and put your tires back in the same grove you just burn through ..
Great 60s if done right ..

I did a burnout past the staging lights one night at Sac Raceway during Weds Night drags and the official told me I'm not suppose to do that.

roll through the box and stop on the outer edge of it. Pull the ebrake all the way, and dump the clutch and keep the rpms at a steady range (occasionally varying the rpms up and down), and turn the wheel from side to side (for my friend's ls no lsd) count for a few seconds and roll out of there.

I think you're only allowed to roll passed the lights if you are running 9's or faster.

turning the wheel side to side works to get both wheels, but they also warm up your cv joints i broke an axle after the 5 or 6th time doing it that sucked lol

to get smokey 2nd gear is a must

3rd takes alot of power. (which sixtydashone has )

2nd should be used on "most" street set ups.

haven't tried 3rd gear, kinda don't wanna get new axels yet.. haha but i guess roll through a lil water n rev it up to about 7rpm, put it in 2nd gear and dump the clutch and let it smoke n steer the wheel side to side so that both tires spin... that's it right?

Wouldnt putting in third be EASIER on the axle?
Plus I dont even see why it would be that hard on axles, you're just spinning them and rolling foward.
But if anything puttin into a higher gear should be easier on the suspension.
But yea like it said before you would need more power to spin em.

I've never tried a 2nd gear burnout. I'll have to try it.

I suck at burnouts. I get all nervous & ****...

haha! it's that feeling that gives pleasure when you hit a good time at the track. Atleast for me it does 'cause you never really know what will happen. Burning out is addictive, especially if you have slicks on.

as long as u rev high enough u wont have a problem. shoot SOHCs can do this. the reason for the second gear burnout is the tires have alot more wheel speed in them, plus u get the advantage of not bouncing of that rev limiter, u can easily modulate the throttle to avoid looking like a dumbass.

im pretty sure you have to be in a pro class to roll past the lights.. no matter what time you run.

Great advice. Never tried second either, Duh. Longer gear than first, more time to smoke'em before rev limit! Also not as rough on axles.
