Hondata Launch Control
I'm gonna buy a launch controller. I was looking into standalone units, but I saw that the Hondata ecu's have it built in, which I was considering the S200 anyways for the new motor I am currently building.
If anyone has experience using the Hondata launch control, can you give me some input please? I watched the video on hondata.com and it seems that the process to set the launch control takes a few seconds... a FEW seconds that are too many once the car hits the staging lights. It looks as if the tree will green light while you're still trying to set the launch controller, especially if the other car is already staged before you did.
Any opinions? Or is a standalone unit like the MSD's etc still a good option even WITH the hondata stuff?

Mine is retarded 30 degrees and 300 units of fuel are added. I only get 12psi or so
They don't even sell the s200 anymore, new that is, because the s300 is such a better unit with no chip burning. And the launch control setup is a one time thing. It saves after you set it up and won't change till you set it up again.

Or you can save about $200 and get eCtune with a demon, and have launch control/antilag with tons of configuration options, closed loop boost control, boost by rear wheel speed (coming soon) as well as a seperate burnout limiter and better software and support.
it has more to do with retard and rpm.
7500, -40*, and +50 got me about 15 psi, i could get more but the little turbo spools hard and fast. hahaa.
I am still on my old hondata s200 that does not have even have the launch control with the switch. I have been wanting to go with s300 for the longest but been low on funds.
Whatever you use for the activation (P/S, A/C switch, etc) just invert the input and set the mph in which you want the launch control to turn off. Keep in mind, my a/c switch didn't work right which is why it stayed on all the time when i used a/c as the activation. I'm sure it would work the same way with the p/s though.

it will only do it if you rev it that high but yeah it would hit it if you were at a stop light. Who cares? I know i don't rev my cars up at a stop light.
