Default G-tech metering device Help

I recently purchased a G-tech meter and tried it on my 96 civic dx with a b16 sir-II swap in it and it won't read my rpm's properly. I've tried all the little tricks like moving my grounds around and turning on all my electronic devices during calibration... I thought it made be a faulty meter but it works in EVERY other car I tried. Any help is appreciated

One vital piece of information I forgot is that I have an aftermarket ignition (Nology external coil) along with OBX 10.4 mill wires. Any help is appreciated.
