Default Fuel Sump question?

i am getting ready to sump my tank and i don't want to pay the money for something that sits too low for a street car so i am going to do a custom one, the question is the kits that they sell for the sump do they have baffeling in there to keep fuel in there or not? i need a definate answer on this i don't think there is but i would like to know for sure so my design is not seriously flawed.-ronnie

would you mind posting links of companies that sell the kits. bro its truthfully not that serious if you just keep the tank filled over 3\8 all the time you'l be good. and all you gotta do is make a bunch of half inch holes on a square of about 10 by 13 or 15 inches at the rear of your tank. and just put the sump right there the series of half inch holes that you put on there will act as enough of a baffle. any other questions let me know. i use to make theese where i use to work. but they were on dsm's.

well it isn't a thing about driving the car on the street because it really isn't a relable car anymore. so the baffle isn't a neccesity for the fuel sump? if so great just another piece of metal i don't have to cut.

Just drill holes in your tank where the sump is going to cover. None of the kits available come with baffles. I just did mine and I just drilled 4 2in holes towards the back of the tank and some smaller 3/8 holes towards the front. The smaller holes will act like a baffle when cornering or braking. The larger holes allow the fuel to drop easily. To help the sump stay full I routed the return line directly into the sump. HTH. PM me if you have any other questions and I will do my best to help.
