Default First time at track with turbo: UPDATED !

Ok, so im new to drag racing, heres my setup. First nite at track with a turbo

99 Si stock b16
Custom T3 turbo kit (T3 from a Nissan)
6 psi
stock air pressure in Toyo FZ-4 205/50/15s

First run of the night, it was setup as "Pro drag" on the tree or something. So I staged and then boom it went green i was like WTF is going on. So I went quickly and bogged and hopped and all. The slip must still be in my car but it was 15.6@92MPH

This was an average run. Usually around 15.2-15.3s
R/T... .708
60... 2.422
330... 6.577
1/8... 9.866
MPH 75.91
1000....12.728
1/4... 15.114
MPH ... 94.48

Worse run of the nite (I thought i was gonna hop down the 1320!!!!)!!!!!
R/T... 1.029
60... 2.758
330... 7.142
1/8... 10.508
MPH 73.14
1000....13.360
1/4... 15.751
MPH ... 93.33

Best run of the nite was
R/T... 1.029
60... 2.337
330... 6.469
1/8... 9.785
MPH 74.3
1000....12.616
1/4... 14.988
MPH ... 94.62

Im trying to work on the lauching thing. Its tough as ****! All I remember was hoppin and bouncin and ****. I had gum in my pocket below my Alpine deck and the wheel hop freakin bounced it out!

Next time I go, i am uppin the psi to 8, i will bring my tool to open up my downpipe (run open downpipe), and i will lower the tire pressure. Obviously i will be working on the launch. With my current 94MPH traps and my plan to bump up psi and stuff, do you think i can get low 14s?

Thanks,
kevin

UPDATE: 5-23-03
So i have the day off today and its lookin kinda shitty. Clouds out all day. i was working on my car like fixin some lines and ****, and then it came time. Time to go race. But right then I had to poop. So I went inside, pooped, came out to RAIN!!! ALL OVER! Crap! Well my buddy and I drove up to the track anyway cuz they said they were open and that they were trying to dry the track. After about an hour or so after we got there things cleared up and we got some racin in!

I upped the boost to 8-8.5psi and ran 22ibs of tire pressure.

First run:
R/T... 822
60... 2.921
330... 7.163
1/8... 9.810
MPH 75.90
1000....13.128
1/4... 15.402
MPH ... 98.50

I was like WHOA MY MPH!!! way up there now! I was happy as can be! Even with a 15.4, i was like holy crap 98.5MPH! THen it was time. I undid my cap on my Y cutout downpipe.....car became loud and lumpy. Up against a Camaro SS some special edition one or something.

Me Her
R/T... 1.087 .95
60... 2.537 2.136
330... 6.683 5.842
1/8... 9.851 8.299
MPH 79.78 82.72
1000....12.544 11.431
1/4... 14.786 13.633
MPH ... 101.76 102.52

Whoa! 101.76! I was extatic! Final run of the nite was against my teammate in 00GSR Greddy Turbo. He ran a 14.069@100.66 versus my 14.213@100.67MPH
Im getting tuned in a week or so so i should be in the 13s.

with ur MPH theres no way ur goin to hit low 14s. high 14s if ur lucky. ur 60fts could use some help but they arent that bad. ur basically trapping about 3mph faster than a BONE STOCK SI, which really in itself says ur car is really untuned or the motor is shot. i suggest u do some maintenance on that thing and take some compression #s.

my CEL is on because of my hanging o2 because i have no cat. I am ordering an o2 simulator. Is that gonna hinder some performance? Also my wastegate is leaking because my friend Dick screwed up the bolts on welding my wastegate

Ouch. You may wanna check that motor or get that thing tuned. 14.78 @ 93mph here in a 99Si w/ bolt-ons, stock clutch, mild weight reduciton, Azenis @ 20psi and in limp mode with 4 codes being thrown. I think it has some potential but I would atleast get that thing on a Wideband and look @ your A/F curve.

LOL..."fixed"..I.E. get that thing tuned, and at least make sure everything is ok w/ the motor. Do a once over on the installation again as well.

Its a "Pro Light", usually a .4 light when calculated.Try the Sportsman tree a .5 light,it will get you more relaxed.thats the key for launching hard and going fast.Practice makes perfect.goodluck

There is for sure something wrong with the car, i woulld say do all your maintenece first to make your sure your motor is running strong, compression check, check plugs, also go back and check all connections, maybe a long shot but check your fuel pump make sure its not wired incorrectly , hehe its an inside joke but it happens and can defeintely kill performance, then get the car tuned.

btw your mph is main concern then you need to work on those 60 ft's

From your last run with the 101 trap speed it looks like you are having problems with yur launch. Keep practicing your will get better with it.
