So my first time ever at the track went pretty well. My second run I pulled a 12.9 out of my *** at 109mph.
I had horrible wheel-hop with 195/50r15 sumitomos at 32psi.
Once I banged second gear I hooked up and was good from there on out.
If you guys could give me some advice on how improve, it would be greatly appreciated.
I might try to head down there again this Friday night and try to experiment more with launching and tyre pressures.
It seemed if I launched any higher than 4500 I got rid of the wheel hop but it just sat there and did another burnout.

Thanks guys

Lol, yea. If I knew anyone...
Probably going to pick up a set of 205 MT radials for next season though. Think thats enough or should I go full slick? Not trying to break my trans ya know. The YS1 is kinda hard to find!

Full slicks... Once you make a pass with them you will never make another pass on anything but slicks! And breaking **** is part of racing but, correct driving can minimize the risks and at your power level you should not run into many drivetrain issues.

Awesome. really was considering the little M&H slicks combo deal going on too!
Am I wrong in assuming that Honda trannys are pretty tough?
Either way, I don't mind sacrificing my rebuilt Autozone axles, lol.

IMO, they are very strong especially for the abuse that we throw at them. They were in now way engineered to do what we are doing to them so, I praise honda for quality engineering and strength. OEM axles will take a beating as long as your power level and slick size is within reason. I never broke one on my old setup. Probably 100+ passes on the same set at all different RPM launches and tire sizes (225/50's, 22" and 24.5" slicks) and a lot of abuse on the street as well.

Haha, yeah. Actually this was the first time I've ever been to the track and so th first for this engine. Therefore I was just trying to see what she would run. Not what I would run
Anyhow, my build thred is in my sig but so you dont have to sift thru that...
B20VTEC
Chamber and bowl work to the head, BLOX intake man. 65mm TB, BuddyCLub spec4's, EnDyn mid-dome pistons(~12:1CR), 84.5mmx89mm, YS1 trans with stg3 clutch and 8lb flywheel(stock axles
) all in a semi stripped EF hatch(no heater core, no HVAC controls, stripped rear interior)
And like i said I ran this on 15" street tyres(195/50r15)
Anything else?

Haha really i was just by little vally today. My buddy lives in East Otto. Car looks like its moving good. Deff get some slicks on that thing will make a world of difference. Im thinking a 23" slick would work good for you. You run it at NYI?????
sweet times especally for street tires
you need a set of 22's and you'll be flyin! as long as you preload when you launch you should be golden and if you break an axle they got a life time warrenty on em right?

Hey thanks again guys. I've got 23" tyres on their now so I'm thinking 22s would only kill my gearing since I'm topping 4th at the line. Haha.
Sorry, mindless, I live in MD, but I still have family up there. Pretty place but small town life aint for me.
