Took my new hybrid to the drag strip tonight. Got 7 runs in. Mods: 92 DX hatch full interior, 95 JDM GSR engine, 12.5:1 CR, eagle rods, balanced, JUN flywheel, 6-puck metallic clutch, AEM CAI, custom drag header w\2.5" collector, full 2.5" exhaust, MSD SCI ignition, Dunlop SP5000 Sports at 25psi, stock head.

Malfunctions: MIL at 3-4 shift cause car to run in limp mode therefore redlining at 7000rpm on every run... No 4th+ gear VTEC... Untuned... burning oil and running rich as hell. Notice the incredible lack of acceleration between the 1\8 mile mark and the trap...

Best time was a 14.46@92. That is an uncorrected time at about 1000 above sea level.



2.211 60' didn't seem too bad to me, considering that this is my first time at the track with this car, and 2nd time ever. Any comments\advice is greatly welcome!

thats a nice time dude... u should easily run high 13's once u fix ur problems...

 

by the way...i notice my engine running too rich too. what causes ur car to be too rich?

 

I believe it is the fact that im running 310cc injectors with a stock ecu and stock fuel pump. I can only assume that the fuel pressure is way too high for the 310cc injectors.

Looks like you let off right at the line. 91 mph? With your 1/8th mile time and mph you should have a 14.2 at around 98 mph.

 

It is because when i shifted to 4th gear, a CEL came on putting the car in "limp" mode. It then redlined at 7000, no more VTEC and ran like crap. So basically, all my runs were in gears 1-3... Im pretty sure once i get everything running properly ill be in the 13's

 

ur running stock dx ecu? u needs to upgrade that bro...haha. i saw alot for sale on the classified section.

 

stock P72... not the dx. DOHC's dont like SOHC ecus.

How tight is that tranny?
My CRX hits 95 in 3rd.

You'll get there. Good 60 ft for street tires. I haven't gotten under 2.4

 

VERY close gears... 72mph in 5th at 4k rpm
