Fire extinguisher setups
Curious to know how you guys have yours setup in your cars, for those who have them. I'm sure some have it hanging, but I'm more concerned with the push button or pull button setups. Thanks
I know that, that's obvious, but I'm sure some may have it setup where it Sprays in the engine bay when you pull the handle. I guess a better question would be who has it setup that way.
That's how it should be set up. You appearantly want it to spray in the cabin where you are too. Hobbs, you know that it displaces oxygen. Hell, you know more than anybody on here about that stuff. lol
It's on my 'to do' list for the end of this year. Gotta protect this terrible "investment".

When i was working on the pro teams they had to run 2 bottles most had one plumbed into the cabin on one handle\button and other bottle plumbed into engine bay and some split that into 2 seperate nozzles one up front and one towards the fire wall on a seperate button\handle. if u had a under hood fire no sense in filling the cabin with that stuff if not needed.
yeah Thats what I was thinking, probably two. I know you dont want to breath it, trust me I know a little to well. Its horrible. Just looking to see if anyone has it setup properly. One specifically for the engine bay of other for the cabin.

•This system is designed to protect the driver, therefore the nozzles should be located in the driver's area. If other protection is needed you should have a separate system.
•IMPORTANT: NOZZLES: SHOULD BE LOCATED IN A POSITION THAT WILL FLOOD THE DRIVERS COMPARTMENT WHEN DISCHARGED.
i have a firebottle, and installed it the way they wanted.

im running a safecraft "push" type in my car, there is one nozzle aiming toward my crotch region (inside the car) in the engine compartment, i have 2 nozzles. one is aiming at the intake manifold/injectors. the other is aiming at the fuel cell.
I just have a basic kit and it has 2 nozzles. I put one in the engine bay at the fire wall near the header so that if the engine was on fire it would keep it up there and away from me. The other nozzle is near my legs and sprays up towards me. As mentioned above...it is to protect you not the car, so think of where you have potential fire hazzards and make sure if yo *** is on fire that it will get put out.
I have had mine for years and never had to use it but I have two nozzles in the engine bay one on each side of the engine, then two in the cabin. One down at my feet and one over the gas tank cover just incase.
I had my one nozzle pointing at my crotch area but after talking to safecraft they said that the amount of force the spray will come out at and the chemicals you do not want that spraying your dick. He said it is better to be lower and let the chemical do its job and work its way up. Also make sure the tubes are securely fastened because if not they will just whip around when you pull it. I see a lot of setups at the track where the tubing is just bent and sitting there.

i believe i paid around 400 for the fire system. got it from jegs. they have a bunch of diff kits.
i didnt feel like bending hardlines, so i used stainless braided ****, and got "AN" tee's to route the lines/ place nozzles.

If you have fuel with ethanol content above 10 percent AR-AFFF is the proper foam not AFFF, very big difference and something to ask before you buy a foam system. All because its for a "race car" doesn't mean its suitable for all fuels fires just something to ask and think about before you spend the money..

(JK) I'm pretty sure he has it set up! As for me I don't have one.
