Default Drag radials worth it?

Are Drag Radials worth the money?

How do they compare to slicks in 60foot times?

i normally run slicks for the past 4 or 5 years, my first time on drag radials the other night i pulled a 2.0 60ft on my only pass. They can give you a great time and somepeople have gotten down into the 10's considerably on drag radials.

Slicks can get you at least .2-.3 faster on the 60ft than drag radials. In many cases even more.
0.2 to 0.3 sec faster on the 60ft is about 0.4-0.5sec on the 1/4 mile.

slicks for the track, drag radials for the street.

btw, the 225/50/15 et streets work rather well compared to other dr's from what ive experienced.

i have tried nitto, bfg, hoosiers, and now 225/50/15 et street drag radial.

bfg's were a little bit better than the nittos. hoosiers were a little bit better than the bfgs, and the et streets were better than the hoosiers.

the et streets have been hooking up great on the street with my 400whp, even from a dead stop with the right psi. the other good thing about the et streets is that they arent shredding to pieces and throwing chunks like the other drag radials lol.

all on the same car, same setup, and same power.

not at all!

you do know that 225 doesnt exactly mean the width of a tire right? google and learn more about what the numbers on tires mean.

16" wheels in the rear on azenis

225/50/15 et streets

this pic makes them look alot bigger than they are...i guess its the angle and because there are 16's in the rear.

225/50/15 hoosier dr's

PIC suspension....12k in the front. it wont hardly move.. especially the rear haha.

i hit these two big unavoidable bumps on the hwy anytime i come and go from my house and the tires have never hit or rubbed on anything.

top pics were taken this past saturday. the fender gap is bigger than what it looks like in the pics. probably about an inch at least, probably inch and a quarter.

so are the M/T 225/50/15s officially available again?
Summit's website lists them and says they can ship them out Monday, Jegs doesnt list them at all though.

yes they have been for a couple or so months now...through summit anyways because they get them first before anyone else..but now a days there might be other dealers that have them. summit is where i get all my tires anyways because everytime i order from them my stuff is at my door in 2 days (ground shipping)

its not just the 60 series that is different, theyre 235 as well. which means even taller. those 235/60/15's are 26" tall!!! imo way too tall for any street honda! kills your gearing thats why they hook up. the quickest street honda in the world (8's) is running 24.5" tall tires so 26" is way overkill for a street car. taller tire also puts more stress on your drivetrain. and they suck at trying to fit them as you can see he hacked his fender all up and now has a sharp edge.

the 235/60/15 et street is what alot of people always used because it was the smallest et street they made...but now MT has had new sport compact sizes. same et street radial but they have a slighly different tread pattern.
