Default Changing Drive Axles?

Do you have to drain the tranny fliud to change change out axles. I'm just wondering, consider a break an axle at the track and I need to replace it really fast, can I do it without draining the fluid? Thanks in advance.

Depends on how the car is angled, sometimes fluid will drain out when you pull the axle out, but if you jack it up high enough on the side you're changing you'll be ok.

you can do it without draining if both sides are jacked up. Otherwise it will drain out of the input holes b/c of the sideways angle
