Default burnout

i am pretty sure that this has been covered already, just wanted to get some input on what gear everyone is using to do burnout before staging. i have others telling me 2nd gear and more telling me that with stock axles on 24.5" slicks that it would not be a good idea....lmk what yall have to offer.

as long as you are at the edge of the water, 3rd gear on stock axles are ok, dont sidestep the clutch, just let it out.

i did 2nd gear burnouts before, and doin 3rd now. 3rd gear will get your tires hotter faster.

We used to take my wife's auto Integra to a local 1/8 mule track back in the day. They had a fence behind the burnout box and fwd cars had to back the bumper right up against the fence. The car had nitrous and I had to bump the nitrous on and back off to start the burnout. I left it in reverse 2-3 times and hit the fence. LOL. That was a long time ago.

ive seen guys do it at the line.. they cross the line since there not sure how to stage, back up and forget to take it out of reverse.

everyone has to learn some how, I never laugh, everyone makes mistakes.
