Actually, you can call up and order anything off Gary's or Bryan's car. That's the beauty of it, GM is making it very easy to be competitive.

Who said racing was cheap...

How expensive could it be to -

Call Honda in Marysville, OH

Order a special "Body On White" Civic EX or Civic Si Coupe.

Get a JDM or USDM K20 or K24 from recycler with transmission

I'm sure you can transfer most of your turbo setup (minus exhaust manifold), safety equipment (save for the roll cage) and other odds and ends from your current car.

When you add up -

Loosing in the final round, loosing in the semis, loosing in the 2nd round all because of a broken drivetrain. Not to mention taking all the time you could be tuning your car for the next round replacing your transmission and replacing the now broken unit with new parts or going to the yard and buying another one.

C'mon man that shh adds up...

Your not going to make Honda budge if you just run their stuff by default. If you want them to support you, you have to make them support you. That means if winning races and dominating won't get it done, then you have the final say by not only not runnning the older product but not running the new products either.

Nothing makes a car company jump higher than loosing market share....

You make it sound so easy...there are so many things that go hand in hand in these race cars that IMO you dont just slap a bunch of parts together and expect to even compete with the cobalts

GM has engineers and mechanics to cover every aspect of all their race cars...as they continue racing they keep data from everything...they are not ******* around...as they get more info and experience with their FWD cars they will only get faster...sorry to say but thats the truth.

Yeah, give them a smaller turbo but I bet you they already have someone on it...

I was just stating a point, when honda was dominating where was the sponsorships then? i'm just saying what i've scene and that means going with who will support you the best. I mean i know Skunk2 isn't officially sponsored by honda and they're doing pretty damn well in all motor. also if anyone knows, has honda ever fully sponsored a drag car? out of curiosity

How did that sound easy? I said getting it together isn't as hard as people make it sound. Its just a matter of how big your checkbook or credit card is.

Yes GM is a well-oiled machine and yes they have gotten around it. If you look at any current engine specs the are up from 2.0L back up to the factory displacement of 2.2 and there's a 2.4L block available from the Cobalt SS sedan and Pontiac Soltces (sp?).

They will prolly figure out how to run the standard Cobalt transmission rather than the Grand Prix based unit to get some weight pulled off the car.

Of course they'll figure it out, that's what racing teams do. If you can't afford to exploit the rulebook, then you won't be competitive.

I dunno what else to say, but Im sure tired of listening to the complaints. NHRA has done their job and made life harder on them and easier on you. What else do you want?

Rumor has it Kubo was suppose to have a factory supported effort. What happen to that I dunno. I also A&L was suppose to run a EP Civic Hatch in Pro FWD, they even buit a car for SEMA.

What happen to that I dunno...

You can say the same thing about Hyundai's involvment. They built a car, even started an engine program but when they couldn't get the Delta V6 to make the power and live, they abandoned it and that was it.

You basically own the car and run your own team, with support from GM. They are not factory backed by any means.

I've always wondered how you come about getting a "body on white" car? How much does something like that cost, roughly? Can you just call up your local dealership and order one?

I wish them the best. At least now Gary will have some competition. The pro4 rounds were really sleepers this year except for watching Shep.
