Best Times On (Real) Street Tires (All Motor)

G'day all,

Im from Australia and reading over the forums i have found that it is considered over there in the US that using slick's constitutes having a "street car time" over the 1/4 mile.

Down under if you want to be known in the street drag challenge you must run approved treaded radial tyres (and must abide by other various rules)

I was wondering what kind of times people were running with (all motor) hybrids using proper street rubber.

I am thinking of going for the street class all motor record using an eg hatch and either a prepped h22a or b18c.

Thanks for any information it is much appreciated, if you know the pressure and size of rim/tyre would be helpful aswell.

Cheers,
Tom

what is "propper street rubber"??? i could shove a decent size et street or other huge rubber tire under the well and call it a street tire.

if you read his post it says radial. Obviously he is saying a tire you could drive on to the track and not be in trouble if it happens to rain.

i definitely have to say go with the b18c5 for street class, my friend corey has on in his eg, and on slicks ran a 7.9-- on slicks putting him at 12th in the nation in his class and hadn't even touched the block or head, but now it's fully built, so we'll see what he does this season....as compared to another friend with an eg hatch with the h22 with has more done than the b-series hatch i referred to only ran around an 8.7 or so at his best in the street class

What are you talking about? First of all this is about being all motor and on street tires not slicks. Second, are you talking 1/8th mile?
