Bent a crower rod
rods- Crower billet(not the econo)
the rod is now in an "s" shape, what could cause this to happen?
the block is fine, can still see cross hatch on the cyl's
the piston from the cyl with the bent rod is slightly messed up on the top side
bearings are also in great condition. the car is on alcohol. and made over 800hp to the wheels. revlimit- 10,000.
any ideas what would cause this?

tooo much fuel would mean we had a shitty a/f right or??? because everything checked out on the dyno.
also did compression and leakdown about 2 weeks ago. 180 across the board, and 1-2 % leakdown on each cyl.

is possible to do it during a burnout ?? cause that is when it happend

no.
no.
does anyone know how to upload video's to the computer, cause i dont. i have the video of the burnout and when the incident happend.
we did the burnout, than came back down to an idle, than the car shut off, after idling for a few seconds

Yeah, but at the power level and rpm i bet you they were all stretched a bit. Not saying this is directly related to the rod itself, though it could be. He just knows better than using those...
i dunno, we have always had good luck w/crowers.
sounds like some hydrolocking going on to me, especially with the berings being in good shape
measure the thickness of the bering 1/2's. if the top 1/2 is crushed then you have your answer..

I told him that you said crower is junk for high hp cars.

I have one question for you guys, why is it that when people are in the pits in their cars and the motor has no load, people insist on revving the **** out of their cars. I have seen more than a few cars rev like mad in the pits, and stretch ****, than go out on the track and blow up. I'm just not getting it

ok, we will look into that.
Tony,. yea we've heard all the "horror" stories about crower. but its all we had when the engine went together. we might try out a set of pauters. dunno yet.

tell me what you think the problem was. obviosly hydrolock, but how?? it couldnt have been coolant, how could coolant get into cyl's with 40 psi of boost? and our oil looked pretty good too.

sorry, but you must be mistaken us for someone else. we are from philly. and there is no reason to reve the car like an **** in the pits.
anyone think we should send the injectors out to get them tested and cleaned??
