aero question
alright, please excuse me if i sound like a total n00b
ive noticed a lot of the fast (10-11 sec) hondas that i see at the local track have carbon fiber panels in the rear bumper with large holes. from what i gathered by looking around on google they are supposed to reduce drag by venting any pressure that builds up behind the scoop of the bumper.
...sounds great, in theory... but how fast do i have to be going before this would make a difference? i doubt i'll ever trap faster than 120, but i'm trying to think of some little things i can do to get me closer to 11's. right now my best trap is 112, and my best et is 12.6.
i have a spare rear bumper, i could cut out the guts and hole saw some holes across the back pretty easily... but i dont want to waste my time or look silly if its not going to do a damn thing. i dont mind looking silly if it is working lol
any other tips would be appreciated

IMO not worth the effort for a street car. We ran 145mph with out holes.
Work on traction to get you into the 11's. Slicks will help, but be careful how hard you launch, don't want to snap axles.

my rear bumper is held on by 6 nuts, all very easy to get at so it'd only take about 10 mins to swap back to the stock bumper. thats why i figured i might give it a shot if it would help.
i dont want to gut and strip it much because it is a street car... and i do drive it to the track. i pull the rear seat and loose stuff out of the trunk but thats about it. aside from the passenger seat the rest of the interior is really light cheesy plastic anyway it wouldnt net me much weight reduction... and i'm not gonna start drilling holes in things to lighten them up lol.
i have been on the search for some used slicks for a while now, seems no one ever has any for sale in the size i need lol

invest in new slicks. You never knwo what youre getting with uses slicks. They could have been stored improperly and the slicks may not work like they should. You also cant really tell how used they are unless you see it in person. A good brand new set is worth the money.
