60ft ride height
Hey guys...trying to improve my 60ft just a hair more. I've done ALOT of searching on google and found mixed reviews on rear ride heights. Ive played w/the traction bars and swapped the rear springs out for a Lil stiffer ones. Raised the rear end up as well. I went from cutting 1.85/1.89 to cutting 1.71/1.74 60s. Just looking for a lil more. I know there's alot of debate on raising the rear vs lower center of gravity. How are some of you low 10sec/9sec guys got ur rear ride heights??? Also if somebody could explain on dampening (where u want the front and rear) right now I have the front turned all the way up and the rear 2clicks up (kinda soft). The car doest squat a whole lot and 60s decent , but blows the tires off 2nd,3rd gear. I have a feeling it's unloading the suspension down the track and just wanna know the best set up to counter-act that prob so I can get the car to ET worth a damn. I've weighted the bar and raised the 2step from 6500 to 7500 in hopes of a Lil better launch. I launch the car with the suspension and drivetrain loaded. Right now it's looking like this....
1/8th......7.50@105mph
1/4........11.70@133mph
The mph is there but it spins the whole track..lol. PLEASE HELP ME OUT GUYS!!!!!! lol
. Thanks in advance

Currently have a set of 24.5/9.5/13 M&H ...I normally run them at 8-9psi in them.
On my old set up I had 24.5/8/13 MT and with about 100 less whp it ran 7.20@100 & 11.50@124

I did corner balance it to the best of my know how....FL-810,FR-803 this was w/me in it and the slicks on the car set up like I do for the track. My rears werent that close they were over 100lbs diff I believe(I'd have to look) . I was under the impression that the rear didn't matter as much as a 50/50 L-R on the front and as close as u could get a 70/30 split F-R....I'm at a 67/33 percentage. Is this wrong??? I only gained 1lb up front per full turn on the rear, so thinking about setting the rear lower. That's why I asked bout the ride heights on the faster cars. How high is ur rear setting?
8-9psi, dude thats a bit too high man.
Some of these slicks are dropped down to 6-7psi. Try going down 7.5psi and work your way down 0.5psi to see where youre sweet spot is where you're getting better 60fts.

some of the guys are retarded with the amount of air pressure they run in their baby slicks. the pressure is so low, in hopes of 60 ft time getting better, that the tires are actually cupped inwards and the tire is actually only hooking on the inner/outer most edges, and then they probably wonder why the car isnt fast. or seems to be blowing the tires off the car. ive seen this on a car damn near 200 feet out plain as day there was probably a 2-3inch gap under the center of the tire, and its riding on the edges.....
So what about the dampening settings?? Like I said I have the fronts all the way turned up and the rear turned just 2 clicks up. Do I have these set wrong and maybe it's causing the car to unload between shifts ? Do I need to soften the front up so it doesn't throw weight to the back between shifts? Just trying to get the car dialed in 1/2 way decent for spring time. Any help is much appreciated guys
do not soften the front. from what ive seen the suspension, need to be somewhat "stiff" if you will.
when u see the car unloading on gear changes you're loosing energy/ forward motion.

for what it's worth, i have adjustable kyb's in the front set to #3 (which is 1 notch from the stiffist). the rear's are full PIC setup. ride hight in the front is about an inch and half from the slick. rear is set alittle bit higher than the front. my best 60 foots were with 7-7.5 psi (1.58-1.61). this was with only 300whp though.
Dturbocivic....that's what's happening...it's unloading between shifts. Just trying to find the happy medium on dampening on Front and Rear. And also the ride heights on the HIGH HP cars on here. I see ur drag car sits low in the rear, how was ur 60ft???
95dxsir....thanks , just trying to get an idea of what people are doing. I actually lowered the rear today (still a bit higher than the front). The car is a hair over 500whp on pump, gonna be getting a race gas tune this spring if everything goes right and hoping to see 700whp range.....but I gotta get the damn thing to hook what I got now.
I have 24.5/9.5/13 M&H.....should I be looking toward a 26" slick?

i would try stiffining up the front alittle more so it doesn't rebound as much getting on it after shifting (like dturbo posted). my 60's dropped by stiffining the fronts also. i was at mid 1.7's with a softer strut and slick psi was at 7.5psi. do you have boost by gear?
Dturbocivic......thanks man
. Ur 60ft is crazy!!!...lol
95dzsir......it will be set up on boost by gear come spring , should help alot. I got a decent 60ft (1.71) just want it lower and traction down the track..lol. I have 10k in the front w/dampener turned all the way up. Im gonna try a few suggestions and see if it does any better.
Thanks guys and any other advice is welcome
