2004 CR-V stalling at idle
This is a vague problem you describe, and I'm not sure if it should be in the drag racing forum. You might want to try the CRV section for better answers. The drag racing forum is for 1/4 mile and 1/8th mile high performance vehicles. It's a sport in of itself with lots of different classifications and all sorts of other things.
To try and answer your question: First of all, its good that your 2004 is starting, because then you know the charging system, starter, fuel pump, fuel injectors, and other parts are at least working decently. Make sure when you start your CRV, or really any car, first put the key in the ignition switch and turn it to the first position- this connects the electronics, and you should see certain lights turn on on your dash. These all mean something. Don't just insert the vehicle's key and switch it really quickly to try to start it all at once. This can cause problems, since your fuel pump doesn't have time to prime the fuel lines with fuel pressure.
Once you switch the car key to the first position, you should see the battery symbol and others. Then switch it to the "on" position. You should hear the fuel pump priming the fuel lines. Wait a second or two, then turn the key to " start" only long enough to start the car, but not longer. If it doesn't start on try number one, take the car key out and wait at least ten seconds, because you might have flooded the intake manifold with excess fuel, and it boggs then engine to the point of it turning off.
Make sure you check all of the basic things like the air filter, and air filter tubing being clean with no leaks. Also, look for and listen for exhaust leaks.
If you start your engine, shift it to neutral right away, and see if it idles in neutral. It should, but if it begins to loose RPMs, then gently push the throttle to keep it at about 1000 RPM.
You might need a basic tune up of air filter, spark plugs, maybe a fuel system cleaner/engine cleaner flush kit thing (about $10)...
