polishing a car with decals
when you are machine polishing a car that has decals, for example my 2004 Civic Si has the "i-VTEC DOHC" on the rear quarter panels... do you tape the edges of the decal off? or leave it be?
Thanks
Thanks
With me it just depends on the type of decal, where it is and what type of machine I'm using.
In most cases you wont hurt anything if you run over the edge or something. With that said sometimes a few minutes of tape work can save a headache later.

Thank you, that's basically what I was figuring.
New question, semi related, maybe...
I am going to be putting a Thule roof rack on, tired of putting wet snowboard/skis in the car, and I will also be using the Thule wind fairing. With the fairing comes some clear round stickers to place on the paint under the fairings mounting arms. This way, as the wind pushes the fairing down, the rubber feet touch the clear stickers and not the paint. My question is, should I test fit the roof rack after polishing and put the clear stickers on, then remove the roof rack and apply sealant/wax? Or should I finish the polishing, apply the sealant/wax and then install the roof rack and clear stickers? I'm thinking do it after polishing but before the sealant/wax.

hmm. Good question. I have no experience with that. Does it come with directions of any kind? They might have some information.
I don't really see any harm in putting them on before or after that sealant/wax.
